It is surprising to most people, but digitization is not the final frontier to EdTech or education in general. But this is just the beginning to a future highly involving the use of high-tech technology and novel ways to use AI in education.

One report states that an astounding 99.4% of educational institutions in the US are already using AI in some form; and the role of AI will only increase as we move towards a more technologically based educational environment.

Introduction to Smart Classroom

A smart classroom is innovative and uses new technologies to improve teaching. The main goal of these technologies is to enhance student learning and create the best learning environment.

In present time, these smart classrooms already include various tools such as: --

• Digital Tools

• Multimedia Resources

• Interactive whiteboards

• Projectors

• Audio-Visual Systems

These technologies enable teachers and professors to present and explain complex topics in a more visually compelling way. This allows students to rely less on textbooks and understand the intricacies of complex topics with more ease.

Future Classroom: AI - Powered Learning

One might call these Future Classrooms an enhanced version of Smart Classrooms. With AI - Powered technologies continuously advancing, it has become evident that its potential to transform classroom has become increasingly evident.

Personalized Learning Pathways

One of the most important contributions of AI in education lies in its ability to personalize learning for an individual student. Using reinforcement learning, AI algorithms can analyze vast amounts of data, including student performance to devise a personalized learning plan for the student.

Using AI-powered adaptive learning system, educators can use these systems to continuously monitor student progress and adjust the learning material, accordingly, providing students with the right amount of challenging and a perfect type of support.

Tutor Bots in Classrooms

To help students in their learning endeavors, teachers can use AI-tutored bots to further enhance their learning experience. This can be done by assigning side-tutors that guide students if they approach a topic, they find challenging to understand.

These tutor bots will not only help the student significantly, but they will also make sure that students do not fall behind in classrooms. Since this tutor-bots will be available for use even at homes, students can utilize their free time to catch up on topics they did not fully grasp in the classroom.

Final Thoughts on AI use in classrooms

Many people reading this will not agree with me, but I will put my thoughts on use of generative AI in classrooms. We can all agree that in hindsight, AI will be implemented in almost all works of life. These can include Manufacturing products, creating algorithms, using machine learning algorithms to analyze data, helping doctors diagnose disease, do complex surgeries and whatever you can think of. My question is, does it really make sense to restrict the use of AI in classrooms when these students will grow up to only use them? Will it not be more beneficial for them learn to use AI in classroom?

This was a brief introduction to AI - powered classrooms that only touched the endless possibilities of using AI in our day-to-day lives.
